What is needed to
promote Ayurveda so that it can reach its full potential? Before Ayurveda and
other methods are accepted globally, they have to face a lot of challenges. These challenges are similar
to any other health care systems.
Scientists are trying to
upgrade the Ayurvedic methods by adding some modern techniques to it. They are
doing research on herbal but they are not following all the principles of
Ayurveda. The basic principles of Ayurveda are Agni, Tridosha, and Dhatu.
Agni means ‘digestive fire’, Tridosha
means ‘three bio-humors’ and Dhatu means ‘tissues’. These three principles lead
to the formation of Mala (excretory products) in normal physical method.
Many new diseases are discovered and scientists try to cure the disease by using latest methods, not following the Ayurveda Dubai
principles. When a patient is treated through Ayurvedic medicines, the practitioner follows Samprapti, Shodhana and Shamana.
Samprapti is about
‘pathophysiology’, Shodhana is about ‘purification procedures’ and Shamana deals with ‘medicinal management’. Giving
herbs is not the proper solution to cure the patient. The practitioner has to use
latest treatment methods to diagnose the disease well.
Nerve conduction and electro myelography is useful to diagnose Mamsa Dhatu (muscular tissue). Shashtika Shali Sweda and Pinda
Sweda are considered important
tests in Ayurveda for diagnosing a disease. These tests are
types of
fomentation using red rice cooked in milk.
Swami Vivek Anand was the first
one who introduced this ancient method to the west, giving lectures in United
States Universities. When Ayurveda reached outside sub-continent, the
fundamental principles remains the same but the usage of medicine is different
as per the regional requirements.
Adding new techniques to
Ayurveda is really a difficult task that needs special attention. While adding
new methods to Ayurveda, it must be remembered that the basic fundamentals of Ayurveda
will not get affected, otherwise this ancient method will lose its
originality.
Since, the last few years, the
need to separate traditional medicines and Ayurveda is felt. World Health
Organization (WHO) has done efforts but unable to get the desired results. Most
people felt that mixing Ayurveda with modern methods is not a proper solution.
It is need of the hour to encourage Ayurveda Dubai
practices by adding new techniques to it. Using
traditional methods is the only option for its survival. So, add new techniques
so the originality of the Ayurveda will not get affected.
